Lesson Plan:
CUSTOMIZE YOUR RIDE: PERSONAL STYLE ASSESSMENT
(20 minutes)

Objective:
Students will be able to articulate their top three personal styles and assess the “fit” with who they are.

Resources:
Internet access for each student.

Approach:

  1. By now, each student should have completed his/her 48-question inventory and received a three-letter code. Review with students that the three letters represent their top three personal style profile scores and that a description of each is available.
  2. Have students share their three-digit codes. Take an inventory of codes to demonstrate the uniqueness of the class.
  3. Have students discuss how well they felt their answers described their personality. Were they surprised? Did they think it would show a different result? (Note: it is expected that some students may not feel that the results are fully representative. Students should be reassured that while no one test can perfectly assess a person, they should see some elements match well. Offer to have students go back and answer all questions again if they feel their answers the first time didn’t represent them well. You can also review which of the questions are associated with each of the six personal styles, which is found in the Drive of Your Life tutorial).

Assignment:
See Below.

For Further Discussion:

1. Consider a writing assignment, with the students writing a brief paper on their three-letter score, what it says about them, and where they agree (and disagree) with the assessment.
